Hygge Home was over the moon to be crowned Small Business of the Year at the recent Parish Assembly.
Cllr Craig Manuel, Chair of Wickham & Knowle Parish Council, had these amazing words to say at the awards ceremony:
“Since opening its doors in early 2025, this business has quickly become a valued part of the Wickham community, creating more than just a retail space by fostering a genuine sense of connection, comfort and belonging. Operating as an independent home and interiors store, it reflects the spirit of community, creativity and quality that defines the village.
At the heart of its success is a clear commitment not only to customers, but to the wider local economy. Through energy, vision and collaboration, the business has played a pivotal role in reinvigorating the Wickham Chamber of Trade, helping to grow membership, re-establish regular meetings and improve visibility for local businesses across the area.
Working closely with neighbouring shops, it has championed new ideas and led coordinated marketing campaigns that have successfully increased footfall, attracting both residents and visitors into the village. This collaborative approach has strengthened community ties and reinforced Wickham’s reputation as a thriving destination.
Driven by passion, leadership and a clear sense of purpose, this small business demonstrates what can be achieved when enterprise and community go hand in hand.
It gives us great pleasure to announce that the winner of this year’s Small Business of the Year is Hygge Home.“
